Arrival, Child Care Services and Dismissal Procedures

Children will gather in the Cafeteria/APR at school dismissal where they will be greeted by Ebony Ellis, Program Director for Somerset Extended Day.  Enrichment teachers will meet their students in the APR and escort them to class.  After class, children enrolled in Wonders will return to the extended day program.  If children are not enrolled in Wonders for the day they have two options; Option 1: parents can pay for WOW Before class child care and have there child attend Wonders from 3:00 pm until the class begins.  Option 2: parents can bring their child to the class when it begins.  Please note children who attend classes that begin at 3:15 pm will not need WOW Before Care.  At dismissal they will go to the Cafeteria/APR and they will be taken directly to their class.

This year Enrichment classes will end at different times ranging from 4:15-5:30 pm, children that do not attend Wonders or WOW After class child care are to be picked up by their  parents at the Cafeteria/APR after the class is dismissed.  A late pick up fee will be charged if you arrive after your child’s pick up time.

Course Descriptions:

Traveling Players Ensemble
Acting and Improvisation: Perfect for beginning or experienced performers, this improvisation and scene study class gives budding actors an overview of the art of performing. By playing fun-filled improvisational theatre games, we will tap into the creative juices of each student while teaching basic acting skills: clarity of thought and action, mental agility, spontaneity, actively listening and responding, and creative problem solving. While rehearsing short scenes, students will practice analyzing scripts, building a character, balancing logic with imagination, and collaborating with scene partners. There will be a sharing for parents on the final class.

Called “A little known summer gem…for the budding actor” by The Washington Post, Traveling Players Ensemble is a professional theatre company with the mission to bring great theatre into the great outdoors through their summer camps and vibrant educational programs.

Sharing with parents: We would love to invite the parents to join us on the final day to see what the children have been learning and creating!
