Statement From The Executive Director

I started at Wonders as an after school group leader over 20 years ago.  Since that time, I have held a number of different positions and raised my family.  My son and daughter attended Wonders; they graduated out — and I stayed!

I was drawn to Wonders because I wanted to work with children in a nurturing environment. I stayed because — as it turns out — it is a nurturing environment for those who work here too.

Wonders has matured into a well-run organization that attracts the best professionals in child care. Our purpose is still to provide a nurturing learning environment, value the individual, embrace the diversity of our families and staff, and provide a contemporary model of quality child care. Wonders also strives to provide financial assistance to as many families as we can. (Thanks to all of you for your donations!)

I am proud of Wonders. From its humble roots 35 years ago with just six kids, it has evolved into a nonprofit business that provides much-needed services to the community and receives recognition as a quality organization.

I am also proud to be the executive director of such a fine organization. It is an honor to be a part of the lives of the Wonders families. I value our teachers and enjoy learning from them. It might be said that I have the best job in the world.

On this site, you’ll find some useful parenting and family information under Resources. For our policies and procedures, please turn to the Handy Family Book.

Please consider volunteering for the Wonders Board of Directors or the Wonders Family Advisory Council. Members serve as liaisons between parents and the Early Childhood program directors and the administrative team. Wonders’ families bring energy and caring and thoughtful partnerships to our community. We value our volunteers and depend upon them.

We want to know how we’re doing; please let us know if there are ways for us to improve.

Welcome to the Wonders community, and if you need anything, please contact me.
